Having Fun With the 5th Grade

It's that time of year again. The leaves start changing. The weather starts to cool down and the art room is filled with projects for the Fall Extravaganza. Our 5th graders are working hard on their class project. Students started transferring their designs onto copper. Next week we will patina the copper sheets and then they will be ready to transform a simple mirror, into a magnificent work of art. I will post pictures when it is finished. I am sure that it will be spectacular.

Hello,
I am a fellow art teacher and am curious about how you made an auction project from these copper sheets. ( in a previous post). It is a beautiful mirror framed in copper sheets. Do you have a tutorial for this? I know how to emboss and patina the copper, but I need help with the construction of the final piece. For example, how did you adhere the copper sheets to the mirror? Especially around the edges of each copper square. I know you had the frame made, but if you have any tips on that, I would also be very appreciative of your advice.

Beautiful work. Thanks for sharing and thanks in advance for your advice.
